Clash of Critters Beginner Guide

Use the first week to unlock systems, avoid wasteful upgrades, and build one reliable team before spreading resources thin.

Clash of Critters gameplay

First Priorities

  1. Finish tutorial and daily unlocks before grinding side content.
  2. Claim working codes before spending early currency.
  3. Upgrade one core damage Tatari, one support, and one defensive pick.
  4. Keep flexible resources until you know which top-tier units you actually own.
  5. Push main stages until you hit a wall, then farm upgrades instead of forcing retries.

Early Team Shape

A stable starter team usually wants wave control, sustain, and at least one burst option. Buddi and Dewgrub-style units make clears safer, while Taptail, Voltfawn, or Punchimp-style units help finish enemies faster.

Day One Route

  1. Clear tutorial until all basic menus are unlocked.
  2. Redeem every working code and claim mailbox rewards.
  3. Do a small number of pulls only if you need enough Tataris to form a team.
  4. Check the tier list before spending Candy on evolution candidates.
  5. Push main stages until you start failing objectives, then stop and improve your team.
  6. Replay older stages for missed stars after your team gains a meaningful upgrade.

Upgrade Order

Put your first big resource wave into one dependable core, not five half-built units. If you own an S+ priority unit such as Buddi, Dewgrub, Punchimp, Taptail, or Voltfawn, treat it as a long-term project. If you do not, a strong S-tier unit such as Goonbug or Ashlarva can carry while you wait for better pulls.

Team-Building Rules

  • One carry: this is the unit that receives your best damage upgrades.
  • One stabilizer: this can be a tank, sustain unit, or defensive support.
  • One control or utility pick: this helps stop waves from overwhelming the board.
  • One flexible slot: use this for stage requirements, element coverage, or a newly pulled high-tier unit.

When to Replace a Tatari

Replace a unit when the new option solves a real problem: more reliable wave control, better boss damage, stronger survival, or better evolution value. Do not replace a leveled unit just because a new pull is shiny. A partially built team can lose more progress than it gains if you constantly restart investments.

What Not to Do

  • Do not spread Candy evenly across every Tatari.
  • Do not evolve a low-impact filler unit just because it is available.
  • Do not ignore defensive or support picks; later waves punish pure damage teams.

Beginner FAQ

Should I reroll?

Only reroll if you enjoy that process. A good S or S+ evolution target helps, but steady upgrades and daily rewards matter more than chasing a perfect opening.

Should I save all capsules?

Save if a banner or event is clearly coming soon. Spend a small amount early if your team is too thin to progress.

Which page should I check every day?

Check the codes page first, then tier list updates after major patches or new Tatari releases.
